Gioia’s Rec:
Femmenerd’s somewhat more unique take on the post-DH reunion of Ginny and Harry was a great relief to me at a time when I thought I might soon drown in overly-sappy or ridiculously and needlessly angsty, tear-soked, romance fics.  In fact, I’m wavering on even calling this story a romance fic.  Harry wants to get married; Ginny doesn’t. A least, not right now. There’s no angst, there’s no drama. She’s 17 and thinks she’s ridiculously young to make such a decision.  Just as pragmatic and matter-of-fact as she is in the books, Ginny is nuts about Harry and has no intention of losing him.  She just plans on having a say in how her life goes from here on out.

I loved it. Femmenerd writes these characters as someone who obviously loves their canon depictions and sees them much as JKR does.  She gets inside their heads – particularly Ginny’s – with keen insights into how they would react post-war.  Femmenerd makes so much sense with her characterizations and crisp writing style that after finishing her unconventional romance, it’s hard not to see her characters as merely a continuation of canon.
