Gioia’s Rec:
One of the hard things about liking a particular author is that it’s tempting to simply recommend everything they write. Truthfully, I could easily do that with Melindaleo.  Instead I’d like to point out some of her lesser known stories.  “Order of Merlin” was a Valentine’s fic written for a competition over at Phoenixsong.net.  Frankly, I think it should’ve won.  Melindaleo knows how to write pure fluff without it feeling silly.  She can write silliness without it feeling juvenile.  And she can write juvenile behavior in a way that conveys real depth of emotion.  Case in point, Fred and George are fantastic in this fic.  As always, Melindaleo also has a grasp on Harry’s socially-awkward POV in a way few authors do. This fic is a perfect example of how she conveys Harry’s strengths and flaws as he responds to the world around him.  Definitely an author worth noting.
