Gioia’s Rec:
This fic has a great theory about the possibility of a “proto-horcrux” existing at Godric’s Hollow.  I think other fics have floated that idea since this one, but this was one of the first HBP fics posted, and the first I saw with this idea in the days immediately after HBP.  The theory is that if Voldemort had intended to make a horcrux using Harry’s death, then the object he intended to use would still be at Godric’s Hollow, and it might have preparation charms of some sort on it that they could study in order to figure out how to destroy the completed horcruxes.  Although there were a few moments of rambling dialogue and youthful writing, overall this is a really good, solid story and definitely worth reading.
