Gioia’s Rec:
This exciting, adventurous post-Hunsford tale manages to squeeze a lot of character development into a short time period as a result of the quality and nature of the time which Darcy and Elizabeth spend together after his failed proposal. So although the author’s dramatic tale is a vastly different journey than that scene in canon, that drama allows both characters undergo the changes of sentiment necessary to reach the level of happiness present at the end of P&P.

I greatly enjoy this thrilling story. It reminds me in some ways of The Journey by Jan H, but with a very different set of circumstances and responses from the characters.  But if you liked that fic, you should enjoy this one.  Aside from the adventure, I was also drawn to the level of camaraderie between the characters and the way they looked to one another for comfort, whether from villains or from Mrs. Bennet.
My only critique: The amount of dramatic circumstances which Elizabeth and Darcy encounter in a short period of time will require some willing suspension of disbelief.
