The Uncle by samvimes (Copperbadge)

Story Title: The Uncle
Author Name: samvimes (copperbadge)
Story Url: Story Link 1
Alternate Url: Story Link 2
Content Rating:  Teen
Status: Completed
Length:  8,054
Story Summary:  “Remus had the Dursleys whacked. Tactfully, of course, and well after Harry left the house.”
Author’s Note:  Just some AU silliness I came up with, featuring a crimelord called Uncle, Dumbledore’s usual oblivious self, and the Dursleys getting what’s been coming to them, Sopranos style.  Alternate Universe. Pairing: R/S.

Gioia’s Rec:
This is just pure silliness, and I adore it.  Copperbadge is one of my favorite authors, largely because of his extremely creative imagination and very, very good characterizations.  In particular, he is well known for writing a Sirius who is flawed, capable of great thoughtlessness, and just as capable of enormous acts of generosity and passionate emotion.  Even in the midst of this silly bit of fluff, that great depth of character is easily apparent in each person portrayed.  Should you have the time, I would certainly encourage readers of Doctor Who, Torchwood or Harry Potter fanfic to spend a few weeks (or months) reading through all of Copperbadge’s archives.

Note: Slash is tagged due to a brief, implied/overheard but not-actually-witnessed Sirius/Remus moment. The “Teen” content rating is due to things that Harry hears about or witnesses, all of which are fairly tongue-in-cheek, but nevertheless are worth mentioning.
