Gioia’s Rec:

Yes, there actually is a reason for this picture. Honest.

I swear, the Derbyshire Writer’s Guild is fast becoming my favorite place to browse around aimlessly.  I’ve been finding the best stories there lately.  This story, for example, was adorable. It was sweet, poignant, absolutely hilarious at times, utterly romantic and whimsical, and yet it contained all the pathos and character transformation of Jane Austen’s book.

Also, while this is neither here nor there, the author’s a Texan. This automatically makes her, and anything she writes, 274.8% cooler.

My Only Critique: I could’ve read all night.  (And yes, I am singing that line in my head.)  Sadly, the story actually had a clear beginning, middle and end. It was not, in fact, the Neverending Story. Darn it.
